Job Title: Junior Youth Worker 

Location: Abingdon

Salary: £12- £14 an hour

Contract Type: Part time

Hours: 5 – 10 hours a week

The Role: 

• Promote wellbeing through creative activities, discussions, and support, addressing issues such as mental health, relationships, and personal development. 

• Engage with the local community to foster a sense of belonging and encourage youth participation in community events and initiatives. 

• Work collaboratively with colleagues, volunteers, and community partners to create a positive, inclusive, and impactful environment. 

• Maintain accurate records and reports on youth engagement and programme effectiveness. 

• Co-deliver youth drop ins and outreach work.

Essential Qualifications and Skills: 

• A genuine passion for working with young people and supporting their development. 

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds. 

• Have empathy and actively listen to young people.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Assist in the planning and delivery of youth programmes, workshops, and activities that align with our mission. 

• Provide support and mentoring to young people, encouraging them to pursue their aspirations and make positive life choices. 

• Develop meaningful relationships with young people to build trust  

• A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. 

• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
